post ozempic weight gain

A Natural Way To Prevent Weight Gain After Ozempic (And Other GLP-1s)

Whether you’re considering using Ozempic (or any other form of GLP-1) or are currently using one, there’s something you must be aware of:

Weight gain after stopping Ozempic is likely

Within a year, most people gain back two-thirds of the weight they lost. A smaller segment, about 17.7% of semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) users and 18.7% of liraglutide (Victoza, Saxenda) users, gained back all the weight they lost or more, according to an observational cohort study (1).

Meta analyses, which analyze the results of several clinical trials to paint a broader picture, found that weight gain after GLP-1 use was more rapid and reversed many of the cardiometabolic metrics that improved on GLP-1s when compared to weight gain after following behavioral changes (2). This resulted in gaining an average of 22 pounds in the year after discontinuing a GLP-1, or about 1.8 lbs per month.

There are still about 48.2% of people who still experience a 5% of higher reduction in baseline weight at week 120 (68 weeks on, 52 weeks off) (3). That’s less than half of GLP-1 users, yes, but it still shows promising signs that it can be an effective weight loss strategy.

Especially when you understand why GLP-1 use triggers rapid weight loss (and weight gain, potentially) and decide to be proactive about protecting the weight loss benefits you realized with the help of your favorite GLP-1.

The reason why GLP-1s trigger both rapid weight loss and rapid weight gain is quite simple:

Biologically, using GLP-1s forces appetite suppression, lowers “food noise” signals from your brain, and slows down gastric emptying. The result is that it’s almost impossible to eat extra calories. In fact, while it differs for every person, it’s not uncommon for an Ozempic user to be shocked by how few calories they’re eating when they count them. Many users report eating 700 calories, or fewer, per day on Ozempic. Especially if they’re not being intentional and proactive and instead eating whenever they feel hungry.

The same road that paves your way to weight loss also paves it to weight gain too.

When you stop Ozempic, those biological forces which prevented unchecked hunger come back. And they come back hard!

When your body can actually feel appetite again, hear the “food noise” signals from your brain, and your gastric emptying returns to normal speed, you’ll feel hungry again. Perhaps you’ll feel hungry for the first time in months if you’ve been on a GLP-1 for a while.

When I experimented with a GLP-1 for 30 days, it left me absolutely speechless in regards to my absent hunger. Taking one more bite of a steak felt physically impossible – that’s how lacking my hunger was.

But this returns in full force when you stop GLP-1 use.

Which brings me to a potential way to prevent the post-Ozempic weight gain:

Calocurb Amarasate Appetite Control, a natural bitter herb extract which stimulates the release of satiety hormones like GLP-1, CCK, and PYY from the gut.

Calocurb helps you enhance your body’s own appetite-regulating signals (instead of outsourcing them to expensive medications like Ozmepic).

Now, it’s a natural solution, so it will feel “weaker” when you’re coming off the pharmaceutically potent medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, etc. It won’t make it physically impossible to put another morsel of food in your mouth.

But it provides a little (yet noticeable) boost to your satiety hormones – and can make the world of a difference when you’re coming off stronger medications.

(If you’ve never used a GLP-1 medication or you’re more hesitant to rely on medications and prefer natural solutions instead, Calocurb can make perhaps even a bigger difference since your satiety signals were never stimulated by these super potent medications.)

There have also been some cases of Ozempic (and other GLP-1 medication) patients using Calocurb alongside their GLP-1 medication too. The idea behind this is that they’re complementary solutions – since Calocurb’s action is different from GLP-1 drugs. The former stimulates hormone release naturally, the latter directly activates the GLP-1 receptor. This hasn’t been studied well, so please consult your healthcare provider before mixing a GLP-1 drug with Calocurb.

Moral of the story?

Post-Ozempic weight gain is a real risk factor for more than HALF the patients who decide to take Ozmepic (or any other GLP-1 drug, really).

But Calocurb is a potential natural solution to this largely ignored problem. Again, it won’t be nearly as strong as Ozempic, but it’s friendlier on your wallet, on your biological processes, and on your long-term health.
